Whether you want a community to grow with or a seasoned doula by your side at your first births, our mentorship keeps you supported all the way through certification and beyond. The Flock is just for Birthing Gently graduates, and First Flight is open to any trained doula.

Group mentorship, just for Birthing Gently graduates
You’ve finished your training. Now you don’t have to figure out the rest alone.
The weeks and months after training are when the real questions come up. How do I finish my certification? What do I say to my first client? How do I handle a birth that didn’t go the way anyone hoped? How much should I charge? Who can back me up when I have two clients due at once?
The Flock is your place to bring all of it.
Each month, you’ll join a small, warm group of fellow Birthing Gently doulas for live calls led by an experienced Birthing Gently doula mentor. There’s no lecture and no script, just real guidance on whatever you need most right now.
Bring anything to The Flock:
- Certification support to keep you moving and help you cross the finish line
- Births you’ve attended, the beautiful, the hard, and everything in between
- Client situations you’re not sure how to handle
- Building your doula business, including pricing, contracts, marketing, and finding clients
- Collaborating with other doulas, like backup support, co-doula arrangements, and referrals
- Anything else birth-related that’s on your heart or your mind
Between calls, you’re never on your own. Our private Facebook group is where you can ask questions anytime, share wins, find helpful resources, and build lasting connections with doulas who trained just like you. These are your future backup doulas, referral partners, and friends in this work.
Our doulas train with us from all over the country, and some go home to maternity care deserts, communities with few hospitals, birth centers or birth workers nearby. You may be the only doula for miles, with no one to call for backup or to talk through a hard birth. Because The Flock is fully virtual, it connects you with mentorship and a community of fellow Birthing Gently doulas, no matter where you live.

- Two live, one-hour group mentorship calls each month on Zoom. Join one or both:
- 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm ET
- 4th Thursday of the month at 12:00 pm ET
- Membership in our private Facebook group for ongoing support, resources, and community

First Flight
You don’t have to walk into your first births alone.
Your training gave you the knowledge. First Flight puts a seasoned doula in your corner for your first three births, so you can show up calm, capable and confident.
- For any trained doula, anywhere. Whether you trained with us or another program, First Flight is open to you (just share your certificate of completion). It’s 100% virtual, so you can join from any city or state.
- Support when you can’t shadow. Hospitals often limit how many support people can be in the room, which makes it hard for new doulas to observe births. First Flight brings an experienced doula to your side, virtually.
- Matched one-on-one with our experienced staff. A Birthing Gently doula walks with you from your first prep call to your final debrief.
- A real human, always. Every text is answered by your mentor, never a chatbot or an auto-reply.
- Confidence that lasts. Step into your first births supported, and step out ready to fly on your own.
We want you to succeed, all the way through your certification process, including DONA International certification. Don’t let fear keep you from moving forward.

Ask us about First FlightOpen to any doula who has completed a birth doula training, with us or another program. Doulas trained elsewhere will be asked to share a certificate of completion from their training organization. We keep spots limited each month so every doula gets real attention.
